Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, the daughter of a musician born in Mexico was born into an affluent family. Growing up, she listened to a lot of traditional music as well as old boleros. They also played classic romantic ballads, as well as traditional ranchero. Ana is a lover of the opera and tango genres as well as all forms of dramatic performance. Ana began to study singing and play instruments at an early age by her mother. She was given more formal vocal instruction in the year she turned 16 old under the famous Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. The musical training continued with the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterward with the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. She performed on stage in Guadalajara, Mexico City and other cities as a young scholar and professional. After 2000, she moved to the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2007 she moved to her home in southern California. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and frequently performs solo of classical Latin American music at private occasions. Her love and passion for performing, painting, and performing keeps her involved with a variety of local initiatives as a teacher and performer. Ana was also part of the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is now a teacher at the Performance Loft. Ana appreciates the opportunity to share her love and enthusiasm for old-fashioned Latin American songs with others as she hopes to inspire a passion for younger generations to keep this tradition of music lively and alive.Viva Mexico!
