Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. After moving to Oxfordshire around the age of five, she enrolled in the Dragon School. Emma always had the desire to be a professional actress since she was aged six. She attended Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting institute with part-time courses. When she was 10, Emma had taken part in a variety of Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone The 2001 film adaption from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent through her Oxford teacher of drama. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after having eight straight auditions. Emma's debut film appearance came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The film broke all records for opening day and weekend sales, and it was the top-grossing 2001 film. It was highly acclaimed by reviewers, and so were the performances of its three stars. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British publication, has praised Emma for her exceptional performance. Emma received five awards to honor her role in the film.
